Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect at my first visit to 7 Pearls Dental?
Your first visit includes a full dental examination, a periodontal (gum) screening, scale and polish, fluoride treatment, intraoral and extraoral photos, and X-rays where needed. Your dentist will then talk you through their findings and put together a personalised treatment plan with no pressure to proceed on the day.
How much does a check-up and clean cost?
New patients can take advantage of our New Patient Special: NO GAP if you have an eligible health fund, or a flat $295 if you don’t have cover. This covers your exam, perio screening, scale and polish, fluoride treatment, photos and X-rays. Ask our team for current pricing on standard check-ups for returning patients.
Do you accept my health fund?
We accept all private health funds and are a preferred provider for NIB and HCF, meaning eligible members can often claim with no gap. We also accept DVA cards and are registered for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) for eligible children.
What if I don't have private health cover do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer payment plans so treatment costs can be spread over time, and our New Patient Special is available as a flat $295 fee for patients without cover. Speak to our team about options that suit your budget.
What do I do if I have a dental emergency?
Call your nearest practice Wickham on (02) 4077 3821 or Belmont on (02) 4945 0881 as soon as possible. We’re open seven days a week and prioritise emergency cases such as severe toothache, knocked-out or broken teeth, and lost crowns or fillings. If you can’t get through immediately, our voicemail and website list next steps.
Do you treat children, and at what age should my child first see a dentist?
Yes, we welcome patients of all ages. We recommend children have their first dental visit around the time their first teeth appear or by their first birthday, so we can monitor development and help them feel comfortable with the dentist early on.
I'm nervous about the dentist do you offer sedation or ways to manage anxiety?
Absolutely. We offer IV sedation for patients with dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, or those having longer procedures. Our team is also known for a calm, gentle approach, and we’re happy to talk through options at your consultation so you feel comfortable before any treatment begins.
What cosmetic treatments do you offer, and how do I know which is right for me?
We offer teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, and full smile makeovers. The best way to find out what suits you is our complimentary, obligation-free 30-minute cosmetic consultation, where we discuss your goals and recommend a tailored plan no pressure to proceed.
What's the difference between braces and clear aligners, and do you offer both?
Yes, we offer both traditional braces and clear aligners for straightening teeth. Braces are fixed and often suit more complex cases, while clear aligners are removable and virtually invisible, popular with adults and older teens. We offer a complimentary consultation to help you decide which fits your lifestyle and treatment needs.
I'm missing a tooth (or teeth) what are my replacement options?
We offer several options depending on your situation: dental implants (a permanent, natural-looking replacement), dental bridges and crowns, and dentures for multiple missing teeth. We also offer CEREC same-day crowns for same-visit convenience. A complimentary implant consultation is available to assess what’s suitable for you.
